Jeypore: A woman died while eight others also sustained injures after a bus, carrying school staff, overturned near Mantriamba Ghati in Boipariguda block of Koraput district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Nilima Panda, wife of the school principal.
According to sources, the accident took place near NH 326 when Nilima and 23 school staff school staff were on their way to Khaiput in Malkangiri to pay their last respect to the school peon, who had passed away at a private hospital after a prolonged illness the previous day.
The accident was caused by a suspected brake failure.
The injured were rushed to Boipariguda community health centre (CHC) for treatment and three among them later shifted to a better health facility as their condition deteriorated, the sources added.
