Jharsuguda: One person has died and 14 others have been hospitalised due to suspected diarrhoea in the district.
According to sources, Umesh Gouda of Kuhakunda village under Kanaktora panchayat in Lakhanpur block was admitted to the local Community Health Centre (CHC) after he complained of diarrhoea. He succumbed on Saturday morning.
As many as 12 persons of Kuhakunda village have been admitted to Lakhanpur CHC and two to a hospital in Jharsuguda with similar complaint.
Jharsuguda CDMO has deputed two medical teams, one each from Lakhanpur and Jharsuguda, to Kuhakunda to take stock of the situation and attend to the villagers having health complaints.
