Nuapada: One person was killed and two others sustained critical injuries when the motorcycle they were riding was knocked down by an unknown vehicle in Komna area of Odisha’s Nuapada district on Sunday.
According to reports, the accident took place in front of Komna Tehsil office in Nuapada district.
The accident took place when the three persons were on their way to Nuapada from Khariar on a bike. On the National Highway 353, an unknown vehicle dashed against their bike, causing them grievous injuries.
On receiving information, fire services personnel reached the site and rushed the three to the Community Health Center (CHC) at Komna for treatment. While one of them was declared dead, two others were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) at Nuapada in a critical condition.
The deceased has been identified as Naresh Majhi (38) of Themra village under Bongomunda tehsil in Balangir. The two injured persons are Yuvraj Majhi (24) and Jagannath Majhi (25) of Manigaon village in the district.
A police team visited the spot and initiated a probe into the incident. A manhunt has been launched to find out the driver of the vehicle who caused the accident.
