Balasore/Balangir: A person died and 23 were seriously injured in two separate road accidents in Balangir and Balasore districts late on Tuesday.
In Balasore district, one person was killed while 15 sustained injuries when a bus in which they were travelling was hit by another bus on National Highway-16 near Talanagar village under Soro block.
According to reports, the ill-fated bus rammed a stationary potato-laden truck. Meanwhile, another speeding bus dashed into the right side of the vehicle.
On the other hand, eight people were injured after a passenger bus slammed against a dumper truck on National Highway-57 near Puintala in Balangir district. Those injured were admitted to the district headquarters hospital.
