Rayagada: A person was killed while another sustained critical injuries after being hit by a speeding truck near Bissamcuttack in Rayagada district on Thursday morning.
According to reports, the accident took place while the duo was taking a morning walk. One of them was crushed under the wheels of the truck and died on the spot, while the other sustained injuries and was admitted to a local hospital.
The truck driver fled the spot with his vehicle immediately after the accident.
On being informed, police reached the accident spot and have started investigation.
