Dhenkanal: In a road mishap, a man was killed on NH-149 near Badagunduri village under Samal police limits of Dhenkanal district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Gagan Pradhan, a resident of Kamakhyanagar area in the district.
As per the sources, Gagan was going somewhere in the village on a bicycle when a speeding vehicle hit him. He died on the spot. The driver of the vehicle fled the spot immediately.
Following the accident, a group of locals gathered at the place and blocked the road for a few minutes, demanding action against the errant driver.
Meanwhile, police reached the spot and assured the agitators that efforts are underway to nab the driver at the earliest.
