1 Killed, Two Injured As Truck Rams Into Roadside Shop

Angul: A person was killed while two others sustained injuries after a truck rammed into a roadside shop near Sanahula in Thakurgarh of Angul district late on Sunday.

According to eyewitnesses, the truck driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed into the shop where some persons were having a  get-together. Following the accident, an auto-rickshaw driver was killed and two others injured. The auto rickshaw parkerd near the shop was badly damaged in the mishap.

Those injured were rescued by locals and admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Protesting the incident, an angry mob blocked the Boinda-Athmallik road demanding adequate compensation to the family of the deceased.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and managed to pacify the agitators after assuring them that their demands will be looked into after a thorough inquiry.
