1 Quintal Of Synthetic Paneer Seized In This City Of Odisha

Cuttack: After busting the units producing spurious ghee, edible oil, masala, chewing tobacco and cement in the city, police have seized one quintal of synthetic paneer.

Following information about the fake paneer, police conducted a raid on a dairy unit in Chauliaganj area and seized the synthetic paneer. One person has been detained in this connection.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the spurious milk product was brought from West Bengal and sold in different areas of the city. Further investigation is on to trace the people involved in the illegal trade and since when it was going on, said an officisal of Chauliaganj police station.

The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has sent the sample of the seized paneer for laboratory test.

It may be noted that Commissinerate Police has raided several units producing or transacting adulterated ghee, oil and masala in the name of reputed brands from different places of the city in this month.
