Bhubaneswar: Ten passengers, including a minor, were injured after a private bus overturned near a fuel station at Baghamari in Odisha’s Khurdha district late on Monday.
According to sources, the mishap occurred around 2.30 am when the driver of the bus, carrying about 60 passengers en route to Bhubaneswar from Ganjam, lost control over the vehicle and hit an electric pole near Babhmari on NH 57.
Locals and police personnel rushed to rescue the passenger but the process was delayed as the entrance door of the bus was pressed against the ground. A JCB machine was used to pull out the injured, who were then rushed to district headquarters hospital in Khurda. Later, some of them were shifted to Bhubaneswar for better treatment.
Poor visibility due to foggy weather is believed to have led to the mishap.
