Jharsuguda: At least 10 people were injured, some of them seriously, in a head-on collision between a bus and truck in Lakhanpur area of Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Wednesday.
Sources said the incident took place near Junion Chhak under the jurisdiction of Lakhanpur police station when the passenger bus was proceeding towards Jharsuguda from Raigarh in Chhattisgarh and the truck moving in the opposite direction.
The locals rescued the injured persons and rushed them to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Lakhanpur. Drivers of both the vehicles have also sustained injuries in the mishap.
Some of them with critical injuries were later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Jharsuguda.
A team of police personnel rushed to the spot and launched an investigation.
