Jagatsinghpur: Ten persons were critically injured following a group clash during Saraswati Puja idol immersion procession at Kundupur village under Balikuda police limits in Jagatsighpur on Wednesday.
The injured have been admitted to Jagatsinghpur district headquarters hospital.
According to sources, two puja pandals were erected along the same road within a gap of 40 feet.
One group, which was taking the idol for immersion, objected to the loud music of the melody programme being organised by the other. It soon took an ugly turn with the members hurling stones and thrashing each other using sticks.
On being informed, police reached the spot and controlled the situation.
