10 Injured During Nor’wester In Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: As many as 10 persons sustained minor injuries during a nor’wester-triggered thunderstorm here on Tuesday.

According to available information, a group of striking Information and Communication Technology (ICT) school coordinators were staging a dharna at Mahatma Gandhi Marg here when branches of a tree fell on them following strong wind and heavy rain.

Busy places, including Baramunda and the road connecting AG Square with Governor House Square, were blocked with uprooted trees obstructing traffic movement. Vehicles were seen stranded for hours following the sudden thunderstorm and heavy rainfall.

However, the situation was brought to normal after the fire and ODRAF personnel swung into action and cleared the roads immediately after receiving information.
