Bhubaneswar: Dhenkanal Collector Bhumesh Chandra Behera on Friday revealed that 10 more persons, who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat Markaz event in south Delhi’s Nizammudin area earlier last month, are now in Odisha.
“From intelligence sources, we got to know that 10 people linked to Tablighi Jamaat came to Dhenkanal via train between March 10 and March 17. We have traced the contacts and 14 people have been kept in quarantine,” the Collector said.
Government’s Chief Spokespersons on COVID-19 had earlier confirmed that 27 Jamaat members, who had returned to Odisha after taking part in the religious congregation, had been traced. “One among them from Cuttack has tested positive for coronavirus,” he said, adding that the results of 21 others are negative and five more are awaited.
