Balasore: Intensifying its crackdown on petrol and diesel theft,
weight and measures department along with police officials conducted
simultaneous at ten petrol pumps in Balasore district on Sunday.
The raids were carried out after receiving complaints of consumers
regarding cheating in different filling stations by unethical
practices by installing electronic chips or other means.
“In the recent past, it was alleged that some petrol pump employees
were supplying lesser quantity and poor quality of petrol and diesel
to the consumers. Similar inspection will be conducted in other
filling stations of the district in phased manner”, an official of
weight and measures department informed.
