Baripada: As many as 10 police personnel were injured as the vehicle carrying them met with an accident on a ghat road in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Monday.
According to sources, the police vehicle with around 20 personnel was going from Karanjia to Baripada for duty. While the vehicle was crossing Bangiriposi Ghati, it collided with a truck coming from opposite direction.
The locals rescued the injured policemen and sent them to Bangiriposhi hospital. The condition of some of them was stated to be critical.
Though exact cause of the accident has not been known, it is suspected that the police van’s driver lost control after its brakes failed suddenly.
