Baleshwar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Monday launched simultaneous raids at 10 properties linked to Arabinda Mohanty, an Assistant Executive Engineer of the R&B Sub-Division in Betanoti, Mayurbhanj district, following allegations of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The searches were initiated based on warrants issued by the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada, across Mayurbhanj, Baleshwar, and Khordha districts by a team comprising five DSPs, eight Inspectors, and supporting vigilance personnel.
Raids are currently underway at these following places:
Baleshwar District: A triple-storey residential building at Angargadia, a farmhouse at Basantapur, another house at Bamapada, and two properties belonging to close associates in Angargadia and Bamapada.
Mayurbhanj District: Mohanty’s office and residence at Betanoti, alongside the house of a close aide at Baisinga.
Khordha District: A double-storey residential building at Balianta.
Ancestral Property: His paternal residence at Rayan-Ramachandrapur in Jaleswar.
Vigilance officials stated that a detailed assessment of seized documents and assets will follow upon completion of the raids.
