Bhubaneswar: Ten places in Odisha received more than 50mm rainfall during the last 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Tuesday.
According to the IMD report, Lamataput in Koraput district reoded 120.4mm rainfall followed by Koshagumuda (105.2mm) and Dabugaon (84mm) in Nayagarh district on Monday.
However, the monsoon seasonal cumulative rainfall, witnessed during June 1 to July 16, was 272.6mm against its normal value of 370.9mm. During the period, rainfall realised in 13 districts was normal, while the downpour in 1 district was largely deficient and rest 16 districts were in the deficient category, it added.
Meanwhile, the weather agency has forecast heavy rainfall across the state from July 16-20 under the influence of a low-pressure area over Bay of Bengal, which lies over south Odisha and neighbourhood. Isolated very heavy rainfall is likely on July 19-20.
