Malkangiri: The Odisha government has suspended 10 junior teachers in Malkangiri district for going on leave without due permission from the authorities for a long period.
The district education department in a notification has stated that these teachers had remained absent from their duty in the schools without citing any reasons or informing the higher authorities. The department has issued show-cause notice to them and advertisement in the media.
But those teachers neither responded to the show-cause notice nor returned to their duty. As a result, district education officer (DEO) Manas Kumar Jena has suspended the 10 teachers from the service.
The suspended teachers are Nilima Jena of New Primary School at MV-1 under Sadar block, Ramesh Chandra Nayak of Bhimarangini PUPS School, Arunarani Beuria of Bijapadar PUPS, Snatosh Kumar Swain of Rauliguda PUPS, Jesmin Das of Bijapadar UPS, Debasri Behera of Primary School at MV 84, Sabitri Patra of MV 90 UPS, Jyotirmayee Suttar of Nalagunthi PUPS, Ranjan Kumar Behera of Janturai Primary School and Sasmita Sahu of Mendakuli PUPS.
