Bhubaneswar: Excise sleuths seized 100 grams of brown sugar and
arrested two drug peddlers from Haladipadia slum at Laxmi Sagar here
on Friday.
One of those arrested was identified as Bidhan Chandra Jayadhara.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of four excise officials raided a house
and nabbed the accused, besides seizing the contraband.
According to excise sources, the seized brown sugar is estimated to be worth
around Rs 10 lakh. The drug was brought from Kolkata.
In a separate incident, police foiled a dacoity bid by arresting four
persons near College Square in Aska of Ganjam district. Two bombs, two
pistols and two motorcycles were recovered from them.
