New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has asked the Tamil Nadu government to revoke its order of permitting 100% occupancy at theatres.
Pointing out that MHA guidelines allows 50% occupancy at cinema halls, multiplexes and theatres, the MHA stated no state government or UT should dilute the Centre’s order.
Two days ago, Tamil Nadu allowed theatres to open with 100 per cent capacity after some leading actors put in a request to the state government in view of big films being slated for release around Pongal celebrations.
