Koraput: The police have seized around 10 quintal of ganja and arrested five persons on the charge of smuggling the contraband in Koraput district.
According to sources, the police, acting on a tip-off, searched a Mahindra pickup van and a motorcycle near Kokriguda Chhak under Semiliguda police limits on Friday. During the search, the police found 1,000 kg of ganja.
The police arrested five persons who were in possession of the contraband and forwarded them to court on Saturday. A case under several sections of the NDPS Act, 1985 has been registered at Semiliguda police station.
