New Delhi: Delhi’s Singhu border will witness the biggest logjam of the farmers’ agitation with 10,000 more expected to join the protest on Monday.

The traffic on the Delhi-Jaipur national highway at Jaisingh Khera was stalled around 1.45 pm on Sunday as hundreds of farmers were stopped by police from marching ahead.

“We have not blocked the highway. It’s a consequence of the fact that the police have blocked us placing barriers. We are simply trying to go to Delhi to get the government listen to us,” a farmer activist from Rajasthan, Amra Ram was quoted as saying by The Times of India.

“We will stay here for as many months as required. If the government feels we will starve and die here, they are wrong. Each of us is a warrior and will fight like one,” said Moga resident Gurnam Singh, who has called his entire family to camp there.

Meanwhile, showing solidarity and support for the farmers, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will also hold fast on Monday. Kejriwal requested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters to join him.

“I request all party (AAP) supporters and people across the country to observe fast for a day tomorrow (Monday) in solidarity with protesting farmers. I shall be observing a day’s fast too… Let’s support our farmers from our homes. I understand that it is not possible for many of us to be physically present in the (state) border points where the protesting farmer groups have gathered,” Kejriwal said in a press briefing on Monday.
