100th Birth Anniv Of Pattachitra Artist Jagannath Mohapatra Celebrated Near Puri

Puri: The 100^th birth anniversary of eminent Pattachitra artist Late Jagannath Mohapatra was celebrated at Bhuashuni Mandap at Raghurajpur near Puri on Thursday.

Several Gotipua and Odissi dancers, Pattachitra and other artists were felicitated with Dr Jagannath Mohapatra Smruti Sammana on the occasion.

Speaking as the chief guest, BJD Sanskruti Samanwaya Samiti state president Prabir Mohanty advised the youths to keep the traditional arts alive.

Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi president Sudarsan Pattnaik said he will try to help old artists in rural areas.

Mohapatra was a famous Pattachitra artist from Raghurajpur, the heritage crafts village of Odisha. He was also a dancer and play director.
