Bhopal: They say marriages are made in heaven.
What about this conjugal union between a man and a woman?
A freedom fighter, all of 103 years old, has married a woman less than half his age.
Habib Nazar, the groom in question, had a nikah ceremony with 49-year-old Firoz Jahan in Bhopal’s Itwara region.
This is Nazar’s third marriage. By his own admission, he felt the urge as he felt lonely once his second wife passed away.
The marriage took place last year, but it’s only recently that it came to light after a video went viral showing Nazar and his wife returning home after their nikah ceremony.
“Kisi cheez ki kami nahi hai… Kami hamare dilon mein hai (There is no shortage of anything… I only feel loneliness),” Nazar is heard saying.
Nazar’s first marriage took place in Nashik and second marriage in Lucknow.
For Firoz Jahan, it’s her second marriage.
She made it clear that nobody forced her to marry a 103-year-old man, it was her own conscious decision.
“My husband is absolutely fine and has no medical issues,” she said.
