Jajpur: Despite repeated appeals and warnings by the State Government, as many as 105 Odia migrants have come to the district without informing the authorities.
All the migrants, who came in two buses from Surat in Gujarat, arrived at Chhatia on Monday morning. The officials of the district administration rushed them for medical check-up on their arrival.
Later, the administration made arrangements to send them to their respective blocks. While 53 of them belong to Jajpur block, 20 are from Rasulpur, 16 from Dharamsala, six each from Bari and Badchana, two from Binjharpur and one each from Korei and Sukinda. They will be kept in quarantine centres in their respective panchayats.
The district administration claimed that they had come without prior information to the authorities. Both Surat and Jajpur have reported several corona positive cases.
While 26 people have lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Gujarat, Jajpur has the highest number of 48 corona patients in Odisha.
