Mumbai: The crime branch of Mumbai Police on Sunday arrested a scrap dealer from Navi Mumbai in the Baba Siddique murder case.
The man from Rajasthan’s Udaipur had allegedly provided a weapon to the miscreants who shot dead the NCP leader on October 12.
The accused, identified as 32-year-old Bhagwat Singh Om Singh, lives and works in Navi Mumbai.
Produced before a local court, Bhagwat was remanded to police custody till October 26.
With Bhagwat’s arrest, total number of accused in custody has gone up to 10. However, the main shooter, Shivkumar Gautam, and two other persons involved in the murder conspiracy are still absconding.
A look-out circular (LOC) has been issued by police against the three accused.
Siddiqui was fatally shot, prima facie by three persons, near his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office in Bandra. Two of the suspected shooters — Gurmail Baljit Singh (23) and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap (19) – are in the custody of police.
