Malkangiri: At least 11 children fell ill after they reportedly consumed some ‘poisonous’ fruits at a village in Odisha’s Malkangiri district.
The incident took place at Telimeta village in the district on Wednesday evening. The children have been admitted to hospital for treatment.
According to preliminary reports, the children, including seven girls, were playing in the evening. While playing, they plucked the fruits from a tree and ate.
However, the children complained of nausea, vomiting and loose motion shortly after consuming the fruits.
The children were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) at Malkangiri for treatment. Their condition showed signs of improvement after treatment. All of them are stated to be stable now.
