Bargarh: The world’s biggest open air theater festival Bargarh Dhanu Yatra will be held from December 23 to January 2, 2018, Bargarh Collector Khagendra Kumar Padhi informed on Monday.
A decision in this regard was taken at the Dhanu Yatra Core Committee meeting here.
The meeting also decided to add more colours to the 11-day festival by organising more entertainment programmes and cultural shows.
A committee members said they had received proposals regarding replacing Hrushikesh Bhoi, who have been playing the role of King Kansa since long, with another artiste and a decision on the same will be taken in another meeting.
The festival is being held in Bargarh since 1947. Dhanu Yatra begins with the King of Mathura Kansa ascending the throne and ends with Lord Krishna killing his uncle.
