Baripada: A huge python, weighing 14.5 kg, was rescued from paddy fields in Kantapal, Bangiriposhi, under Baripada forest division in Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday.
The sight of the 11-foot python spread panic among farmers who were busy harvesting paddy. They didn’t waste time in informing local Forest department officials.
Bangiriposhi Forest Ranger Ajaya Das informed that officials rushed to Kantapal village and caught the python with the help of farmers.
The snake was shifted to Similipal Bidubhandar reserve forest.
