Sambalpur: Eleven more persons, including 10 MBBS students and a laboratory attendant, tested COVID-19 positive to take the COVID tally of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla of Odisha’s Sambalpur district to 74. A total of 120 samples were sent for testing.
The authorities at VIMSAR have already commenced contact tracing of the infected persons apprehending more cases.
The authorities formed a four-member team for the contact tracing activity. As a precaution, all hostels on the campus were being sanitised.
The district administration has declared the Sabitri Girls Hostel, Charak Hostel, Gargi Girls Hostel, Bhrugu Hostel and Patanjali Hostel of VIMSAR as Micro Containment Zone.
Also, Staff Quarters, Atreya Hostel, Biswamitra Hostel, Apala Girls Hostel and Markandeya Hostel of VIMSAR have been included in the Buffer Zone.
