11 People Arrested With Ganja Worth Rs 25 L

Malkangiri: Mathili police seized 7 quintals of ganja from
Gobindapalli in Malkangiri district on Friday.

As many as 11 people were arrested in connection with the seizure. Two
vehicles were also seized from the arrested persons.

Police conducted a raid in the area after being informed that ganja
was being smuggled from Chitrakonda in the district to Chhattisgarh.
The cops intercepted the vehicle and found the contraband following
search.

The value of the seized ganja was estimated to be around Rs 25 lakh.
Those arrested are being questioned to trace out their links with
other people involved in the smuggling, a police officer informed.

Meanwhile, a woman was arrested by an excise team for allegedly
possession 46 grams of brown sugar at Debighat in Narendrakona of Puri
district.
