Bhubaneswar: As many as 11 places in Odisha recorded night temperature of less than 10 degree Celsius as the intense cold wave condition continued to grip the state.
According to a morning bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the lowest night temperature of 5.3°C was recorded in Phulbani till 8.30 AM on Sunday. It was followed by Daringbadi (7), Jharsuguda (8.2), Baripada (8.5), Sundargarh (9), Koraput (9), Talcher (9.3), Keonjhar (9.4), Bhawanipatna (9.6), Sonepur (9.6) and Balangir (9.8).
Apart from this, mercury remained at 15 degrees Celsius and below at 16 places in Balasore (12), Chandbali (11.5), Paradip (13.9), Sambalpur (11.5), Hirakud (11.2), Titlagarh (11), Malkangiri (12), Nayagarh (12.5), Boudh (10) and Chhatrapur (14) and Rayagada (10).
The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded 11.5 and 12.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
The IMD has said as there is no significant synoptic system over Odisha, there will be no change in the cold wave conditions till January 31.
