Nabarangpur: An 11-year-old girl student was allegedly gang raped by the headmaster and an assistant teacher of a school in Kundei area of Odisha’s Nabarangpur district.
The two accused teachers have been detained by the police in connection with the alleged gang rape of the Class VI student.
Police said the incident, which took place on Tuesday, came to light after the rape survivor’s father filed a complaint on Thursday. In his complaint, it was alleged that the girl, a day scholar at the school meant for SC and ST students, was raped by the two on Tuesday during school hours.
It was alleged that the two accused teacher lured the girl to the school’s toilet and raped her there.
The girl reportedly revealed the incident after being taken to a hospital due to persisting pain.
On the basis of the complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.
The two teachers are being questioned at the police station and further investigation is underway.
On the other hand, the girl was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) at Nabarangpur for better treatment.
