11-Yr-Old Boy Drowns To Death During Ganesh Idol Immersion In Odisha’s Balasore, Brother Critical

Balasore: An eleven-year-old boy died and his younger brother is in a critical condition after both drowned in a pond during immersion of Lord Ganesh idol at a village in Odisha’s Balasore district on Sunday.

As per preliminary information, the mishap took place at Kuligan village under the jurisdiction of Khantapada police station in the district during Ganesh idol immersion ceremony in which several children were participating at the pond.

However, the two brothers slipped deep into the water and drowned. Both were pulled out of the pond by locals and rushed to the community health centre (CHC) at Khandapada, where the elder brother was declared dead. His younger brother, aged around eight years, is undergoing treatment and his condition is stated to be critical.

The deceased was identified as Pratyush Ranjan Rout, while his brother Satyajit is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
