Cuttack: More than 12 persons sustained critical injuries when a bus carrying pilgrims collided with a pick-up van near a filling station on National Highway-16 at Tangi in Cuttack district on Wednesday.
Police with the help of locals rescued the passengers and admitted them to a nearby hospital. Some among the injured were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for better treatment.
The private bus was heading towards Puri from Kolkata when the mishap took place.
Eyewitness told police that the bus driver lost control over it and collided with a van due to over speeding.
