12-Hour Bandh Being Observed In Madanpur Rampur; Know Why

Bhawanipatna: Under the banner of the Kriyanushthan Committee, locals are observing a 12-hour bandh in Madanpur Rampur demanding revenue subdivision status to the block on Monday.

They are observing the bandh from 6 am to 6 pm. All shops, markets, government and private offices and vehicular movements have been shut for the duration. Bandh is also being observed in two other places — Narla and Karlamunda.

Locals have been apparently seeking revenue subdivision status to Madanpur Rampur for the last 25 years. In view of the demand, they had been observing a hunger strike near the Madanpur Rampur Tehsil office for a month.
