Sambalpur: Demanding the halt of three express trains, a 12-hour bandh is being observed by the Rail Kriyanusthana Committee in Bamra town of Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Monday.
The committee wants three trains — Rajendra Nagar-Durg Express, Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Intercity Express, and Howrah-Ahmedabad Express — to halt at Bamra station.
The committee members staged a rail roko at the Bamra station holding placards and banners. The bandh also affected vehicular movement in the town as they resorted to intense sloganeering against the local administration.

The agitators have also been demanding the construction of a railway overbridge to get rid of the level crossing issue of the town.
A meeting involving the committee members, the sub-collector, local SDPO, and Railway authorities had taken place on Monday, but it remained inconclusive and the members called for the bandh.
