Muniguda: Normal life was crippled at Muniguda in Rayagada district on Thursday owing to a dawn-to-dusk bandh called by Muniguda Development Council over revenue sub-division status to the area.
Almost all business establishments, markets, shops and educational institutions remained closed. Vehicular movement on Kalahandi, Rayagada, Ambadola, Biswanathpur and Gunupur routes was affected as protestors staged blockades at major intersections connecting these places.
The agitators also sought notified area council (NAC) status tag for Muniguda.
Heavy police forces have been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident.
