Jashipur: Most shops, business establishments and offices downed shutters while vehicles stayed off the road in response to 12-hour bandh on Friday to protest against the district administration’s apathy in repairing a road connecting Jashipur with NH-49 in Mayurbhanj district.
The dawn-to-dusk stir was called by Congress, CISU and JMM.
The agitators staged blockades and picketed at several places to press for the demand.
“We had requested the district officials several times in the past, but no step was taken to get the road repaired. This forced us to stage a protest,” said a protestor.
