Bhubaneswar: A 12-hour-long music marathon was held at BOCCA Café here on Saturday to support and connect with cyclone Fani-affected people.
Odisha-based 360 degree Media Communication and Event Management Company “Prelude” presented a 12-hour music marathon “Music and More” from 10am to 10pm on the occasion.
Music and More is a musical attempt to bring all singers, musicians, entertainers and art lovers together for a cause.
This session of Music & More, with its healing effects of soothing music, brought the stories of responsible citizens and organisations that showcased their herculean effort to provide relief and restoration help during the devastating Fani.
Odisha Film Development Corporation chairman Kuna Tripathy and international sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik inaugurated the show.
Mumbai-based Odia actress Dolly Jena, Bakul Foundation founder Sujit Mohapatra and Prelude Novel Ventures founder Satyabrat Sanu Ratho were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Kuna Tripathy portrayed “Trees as our mother”. He spoke about balancing life with tree plantation and calls for a collective effort in society to save the earth. He also urged society to contribute towards making a new Odisha, for which he contributed a decent amount for the Fani affected community.
In his address, Sudarshan Patnaik said: “It is a praise-worthy initiative. Such initiatives can help us rebuild a new Odisha through art.” He said uprooting of so many trees during Fani is going to have an impact on nature. “Awareness through art and culture is a welcome measure and I wish all success to this event.”
Satyabrat Sanu Ratho said: “Music is something very close to my heart. I had always thought of doing something in these lines. Music & More is an initiative to call people to stand together and rebuild Odisha.”
Newly elected MLA from Kabisurjya Nagar, Latika Pradhan, and many other dignitaries attended the non-stop musical show.
