Soro: Normal life was thrown out of gear following a 12-hour bandh called by Congress in Soro of Balasore district on Tuesday to protest against doctors’ shortage at Soro community health centre (CHC).
Almost all shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed while vehicles stayed off the road during the strike.
The agitators staged demonstrations, rallies at various places and blocked major junctions of the town.
“The state government should take immediate steps to fill up the vacant posts of doctors and other medical staff at the health centre as healthcare and quality of life of people are getting affected,” one of the protestors said.
