Bhawanipatna: At least 12 people were injured, some of them critically, when the SUV in which they were travelling collided with a mini truck on a hilly road in Odisha’s Kalahandi district on Monday.
The mishap took place at Ampani Ghati on Koraput-Kalahandi road when the victims from Andhra Pradesh were travelling to Dharamgarh in the district in the SUV, sources said.
All the 12 persons on board sustained injuries after their vehicle was involved in a head on collision with a mini truck moving in high speed from the opposite direction.
The injured persons were rescued by locals and rushed to a hospital at Koksara for treatement. The condition of several injured persons was stated to be critical.
A team of police personnel rushed to the site and launched an investigation into the incident. The mini truck was seized and its driver was being interrogated. Further details are awaited.
