Kendrapara/Koraput: As many as 12 people, including a sevashram student, have tested positive for dengue in Kendrapara and Koraput districts.
In Kendrapara, 11 villagers at Balachandrapur in Aul block have tested positive. Officials said over 100 villagers are suffering from fever and a health department team has visited the village to collect blood samples.
Meanwhile, the confirmed dengue patients have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
In Koraput, the blood sample of a Class IV student of Deraguda Sevashram School in Baipariguda block has tested positive for dengue, the medical officer of Baipariguda Community Health Centre informed.
The student is undergoing in a Koraput hospital.
Four other students of the same school are suffering from malaria, officials said.
Some other students of the sevashram have also been suffering from fever for the past few days. A health department team has visited the school and collected blood samples for dengue testing.
According to sources, the water sample from the sevashram will also be sent for testing.
