Bhubaneswar: The I & PR Department on Tuesday identified the five new COVID-19 cases detected in Balasore district as close relatives of those who had earlier tested positive for the virus.
The new cases include a 34-year-old woman, a 38-year-old man, a 12-year-old boy, 34-year-old woman and a 26-year-old youth.
Balasore had reported its first COVID-19 case on April 18 when a 58-year-old man was found infected. Two others – a 32-year-old man and a two-year-old girl – tested positive for the virus on April 19.
Balasore now has eight positive cases while Odisha’s tally has gone up to 79.
