Mumbai/Bhubaneswar: A total of 121 students from various educational institutions in Odisha will receive Reliance Foundation UG Scholarships 2023-24.
They are among 5,000 students selected from a countrywide application pool for this year’s scholarships, results for which were announced on Friday.
Applicants can visit www.reliancefoundation.org to check whether they qualified for the scholarship.
One of India’s largest scholarship initiatives for higher education awards undergraduate students a grant of up to Rs 2 lakh and an opportunity to be part of its alumni network.
As many as 58,000 students from 5,500 educational institutions across 35 states and UTs had applied for the scholarships. From that huge pool, 5,000 students were selected through a systematic merit-cum-means process.
Performance in the aptitude test and Grade 12 marks were taken into consideration, with 75% of selected students coming from families with annual household income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh.
The aim of Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships is to support students in any stream of study to lift themselves, their communities and contribute to India’s socio-economic development. Students are selected on merit-cum-means basis to enable them continue undergraduate studies without financial burden.
Since 1996 when the scheme was launched, Reliance has awarded 23,136 student scholarships till date, of which 48% are girls and 3,001 are students with disabilities.
Reliance Foundation Founder & Chairperson Nita Ambani announced that it will award 50,000 scholarships over the next 10 years.
