Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 positive cases tally in Bhubaneswar soared to 2861 on Saturday with 126 new cases in the last 24 hours.
Out of 126 cases, 77 are quarantine cases and 49 are local contact cases.
Among 126 cases, 31 are from the slums while 8 policemen, 2 media house employees and 3 hospital staffers have also been tested positive for the virus.
On the other hand, 133 more patients have recovered. Among them, 9 are from Nua Sahi slum in Nayapalli and four from IRC village.
With 17 deaths and 1566 recoveries, the capital city has 1276 active cases.
