Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched much-hyped “Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha” scheme in three more districts of the state.
The ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ initiative, geared towards fortifying infrastructure for the progress of Odisha, was inaugurated on the 12th day in the districts of Sundargarh, Dhenkanal and Boudh via video conference.
The Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 280 crore for a host of developmental projects in these districts. As per provisions of the scheme, each panchayat will get Rs 50 lakh to spend in development works.
Under the initiative, six constituencies of Sundargarh district have received a total of Rs 139.50 crore. These constituencies are Sundargarh, Talasara, Biramitrapur, Raghunathpalli, Rajgangpur and Banei. A total of 3,016 projects will be implemented in 279 gram panchayats of 17 blocks of these constituencies.
Similarly, Rs 106 crore has been sanctioned for four constituencies of Dhenkanal district. These constituencies are Dhenkanal, Kamakhyanagar, Parjang and Hindola. A total of 3,053 projects will be implemented in 212 gram panchayats of eight blocks of these constituencies.
In Boudh district, Rs 34.50 crores has been approved for two constituencies. These constituencies are – Kantamal and Boudh. A total of 1,159 projects will be implemented in 69 gram panchayats of three blocks of these constituencies.
Addressing the gatherings in the three districts during the launch of “Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha” through video-conferencing from Bhubaneswar, the chief minister said besides development of villages and panchayats, the scheme aims at promotion, preservation and protection of the Jagannath culture and tradition of the state.
Noting that Odisha has always been rooted in its tradition, culture and history, he said Odisha is the land that gave Jagannath culture to the world. It propagates universal love, service and equality. It is based on inclusiveness and embraces everyone irrespective of caste and community.
“Development of digital infrastructure is one of the objectives of the scheme. Internet connectivity, skill development centre, works hub and banking facilities are its other features. It will also open up vast opportunities for youths, women and farmers in rural areas,” Naveen said.
Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha VK Pandian gave the details of the projects and the fund sanctioned for those.
It may be noted that the scheme was launched on October 10 with a budget provision of Rs 3397 crore. Total 90,723 projects will be implemented in 6794 panchayats across the state and an amount of Rs 10 lakh will be allocated for every village as part of the scheme.
