New Delhi: Thirteen candidates from Odisha have cleared Civil Services examination 2017, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) result of which was announced on Friday.
While Anudeep Durishetty from Hyderabad topped the examination, Anu Kumari and Sachin Gupta have secured second and third positions respectively.
Of the 12 candidates from Odisha who have cleared the examination, Subhankar Mohapatra has secured 46th position followed by Amiya Prasanna Nanda (243), Sumit Panda (251), Babitarani Swain (401), Aditya Tripathi (452), Hrudaya Kumar Das (680), Samir Kumar Jena (684), Ashis Kumar Sahu (719), Manoranjan Behera (826), Yashodhara Das (894), Shibu Prasad Mishra (906) and Sudhanshu Nayak (931).
Out of 990 (750 men and 240 women) candidates recommended by the UPSC for appointment to various services, 180 have been qualified for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 150 for Indian Police Service (IPS) and 42 for Indian Foreign Service (IFS).
The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2017 was conducted on 18th June, 2017. A total of 9,57,590 candidates had applied for this examination of which 4,56,625 candidates actually appeared.
While 13,366 candidates qualified for the Written (Main) Examination held in October – November 2017, candidates qualified for the Personality Test conducted in February – April 2018.
