13 Notorious Criminals Declared ‘Tadipaar’ In Odisha’s Twin Cities

Cuttack: ‘Tadipar’ (externmment) order has been passed against 13 dreaded criminals in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

The Commissionerate Police here on Wednesday passed the order against two notorious criminals – Krishna Singh (23), a resident of Patrapada area, and Sangram Keshari Pradhan (39), residing in the Laxmisagar area – in Bhubaneswar for breaching public order and spreading terror,

According to sources, both of them were arrested several times, and are currently out on bail. They committed offences including theft, robbery, snatching, and extortion.

Singh was booked in 11 cases in Khandagiri, Jatani, Bharatpur, and Airport police limits during 2014-22 and Pradhan was arrested in 13 cases by the Laxmisagar police between 2012 and 2022.

They have been banished from the jurisdiction of Bhubaneswar city police for one year. Both of them will face criminal proceedings and may be arrested on the basis of non-bailable warrants issued by a court in case they are found violating the order.

Under the provisions of the Odisha urban police (OUP) Act 2003, the commissioner of police is empowered to exercise the externment rules that banish a criminal from a certain geographical area for a specific period to prevent him from committing crimes. “We have started taking stringent action against habitual criminals, who pose a threat to society and commit crimes after coming out on bail,” commissioner of police Saumendra Priyadarshi told TOI.

Meanwhile, DCP Prateek Singh said a database of notorious criminals is being prepared to banish them from the city.

The Cuttack Urban Police District (UPD) have also started the process to declare the 11 dreaded criminals, including gangster Md. Sakil, Sashikant Khandei and Milan Lenka, as tadipaar. All the criminals are currently out on bail. At least 10 cases are pending against each criminal in different police stations.
