Bhubaneswar: Seven more patients succumbed to COVID-19 in Odisha in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 538 on Saturday.
The Health Department identified the deceased as:
1. A 70-year-old male from Bhubaneswar.
2. A 78-year-old male from Balangir who was also suffering from Diabetes, Hypertension and Old Cerebro Vascular Accident.
3. A 61-year-old male from of Cuttack who was also suffering from Diabetes.
4. A 76-year-old male from Ganjam district who was also suffering from Diabetes.
5. A 59-year-old male from Khurda district who was also suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
6. A 13-year-old boy from Malkangiri district who was also suffering from Leukemia.
7. A 68-year-old male from Sundargarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes.
With these seven new casualties, the virus has so far claimed 200 lives in Ganjam district, followed by 74 in Khurda, 37 each in Sundargarh and Cuttack, 27 in Rayagada, 18 in Gajapati, 16 in Puri, 15 each in Sambalpur and Nayagarh, 13 in Balasore, 11 in Kandhamal, nine each in Bargarh and Bhadrak, eight in Balangir, seven each in Malkangiri, six each in Jajpur and Keonjhar, five in Mayurbhanj, four each in Jagatsinghpur and Angul, three each in Koraput and Kendrapada, two each in Sonepur, Dhenkanal, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi and one in Jharsuguda.
